Landscape Committee Work Party

  • 1826 Sakai Village Loop Bainbridge Island, WA, 98110 United States (map)

We’re providing a great opportunity for you to meet your neighbors while helping the community we all love.

On Saturday, February 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., we’re hosting a work party to remove Ivy from trees and cut back brambles that encroach on the trail in the Village’s wooded area, north of the buildings.

While the Ivy may look nice in some situations, it’s an invasive species that can choke and kill trees and native plants. We have lost a lot of trees over the past few years in our forest, and we would like to keep the remaining trees healthy by cutting and removing the ivy.

Things to bring if you have them (please come even if you don’t have any of these items):

  • Gloves

  • plant trimmers

  • snacks to share

  • wheelbarrow

  • shovel

We will meet in front of 1826 Sakai at 10:00 and proceed into the woods by 10:10. We plan to start on the south end of the trail, so if you cannot join the party at the beginning, come down anytime and find us.

Even if you cannot do physical labor, please come say “hi” and meet your neighbors (cookies and snacks gratefully accepted by the laborers!).
